The rocking musician and believer of punk philosophy Sid Vicious was charged to murder his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. However, it is still a mystery and controversial matter that whether this young rude, offensive, and undeniably unpleasant bassist really killed his love or not. Vicious too died a few months later the death of Nancy due to high dosage of drug. Though police had declared that search for the person who killed Nancy, the girlfriend of Sid, was ended soon after Vicious death, still it is a controversial issue pleading for Sid’s innocence in the murder.

Sid Vicious was born as Simon John Ritchie and gained fame as the punk hero following an unruly lifestyle. At his young age Sid made himself popular for his charisma on stage and his unconventional way to perform creating a storm in the stage. The band name of punk rock-sex pistols is associated with this nihilistic and lanky Sid. He was known for his performances in The Flowers of Romance and The Banshees and Sex Pistols his musical career. Sid also performed Solo performances at Max Canses and known to attract a huge crowd of audience who love to watch this young Vicious dominating in the stage.

Murder of Nancy Spungen and Sid’s name as the murderer created a storm among the young punks. Nancy, who was a drug addict and infamous for being known as Nauseating Nancy, was found dead in a room of Hotel Chelsea, New York. She was found stabbed to death in the bathroom of the room where she was living with her lover Sid Vicious. She was in her underwear and clad with blood. Sid, who was under heavy influence of drugs, woke up to find her woman in that situation.
According to records Sid cried and told that he had killed her. He was found wandering in the halls of Hotel Chelsea making a ruckus. He also cried and moaned uttering “baby, baby, baby” and “I killed her…I can’t live without her”. But later Sid changed his words and said that he could not recall what happened at that fatal night. He also reported that he had stabbed her but there was no intention of killing her.

Supporters who claimed that Sid was innocent and was actually a victim of the entire conspiracy and brutal murder of Nancy, said that there were enough evidences that support involvement of a stranger, commonly known as Michael, in the murder of Nancy. The night Spungen was murdered, Sid was under heavy influence of high drug dose and he was too cold to stab and kill Nancy. Also, the person named Michael was seen by some evidences with the pair – Nancy and Sid, the night of the murder. Presence of this strange and assumable murderer of Nancy was also highlighted by the evidences who said he was seen to leave the hotel with a bag. To support this issue of Michael’s involvement in the murder, it has been said that the assassination was caused for robbery purpose. May be there was a fight between Nancy and the murderer for money and the later killed Nancy who was unable to protect her life. Sid only woke up to find her girlfriend clad in blood.
